Volunteering

What a great concept! Having officers be the waitstaff for a dinner! This is the annual Tip-A-cop dinner that raises funds for our local Special Olympics. I’m not sure what Sheriff Parkinson is doing above my head - lol!

What an honor it was to be chosen as the first-ever Volunteer of the Year for the San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Advisory Foundation! Then to be recognized by Senator Laird’s office to boot! I can’t tell you enough how rewarding it is to be invovled with my community. Click here to learn how you can join or volunteer!

With Pismo Beach Mayor, Ed Waage, at the Pismo Beach Pier celebrating the City’s 75th Anniversay!

After working with the Rotary Club to cleanup a lady’s backyard. She was unable to do the work herself and neighbors had complained. It was exhausting work. The load was lightened by the new friendships formed and the laughter that kept increaing as we became more silly towards the days end.

Pismo Beach Farmers’ Market Team - 2021

Visit the Farmers’ Market Wednesdays from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Open during the summer months.

Our local real estate industry has so many great people! My friend Michael Marisol is a true hero when it comes to giving back to the community. He is a Home Inspector and I had the pleasure of spending some time helping ring in the holidays by the California Fresh Market for Salvation Army. I was just visiting and Michael put in all the long hours!

Volunteering

So many wonderful things continue to happen in my life!

I am surounded by some of the most incredible group of people, both personally and professionally, throughout my community.

The Land Conservancy of SLO County is a great organization (in my humble opinion, of course) that raises funds to protect and manage our local historic resources and open spaces. Some of my favorite projects that they have done are the Pismo Preserve and the Historic Octogan Barn.
If you are interested in more information on their projects and how to donate, volunteer or become involved in other ways, here is their contact information:

The picture above was taken after pciking up trash along a roadside in our community. My mentor at eXp California Real Estate, Inc., Kim Renshaw, sponsors this and she is so inspiring! There aren’t a lot of people that can get a group of friends out on a Saturday morning to pick up garbage for fun!

Volunteering with the Pismo Beach Chamber of Commerce and working with the Farmers Market on Wednesdays. So much hard work goes into this and it is all done by volunteers. The location is breathtaking! Locals and visitors alike enjoy shopping in the Pier Plaza. You really need to visit the Market to appreciate all of the great vendors and the team. Stop by on Wednesdays from 4:00 - 7:00!

To be able to do volunteer work in our community is the best! I have met some of the most amazing people. Heidi Koch is a fellow agent that I used to work with. She volunteers with Meals on Wheels. she was kind enough to let me help her with deliveries on a couple of occasions. What a rewarding experience!

Delivering Meals on Wheels with Heidi Koch.

Going above and beyond isn't only nice, it's a business plan!

Standing with other volunteers at the SLO Sheriff's Family Fun Day event

Working with the SLO Sheriff’s Advisory Foundation has been so inspiring! This day at the Sheriff’s Family Fun Day at Madonna Inn was fantastic. So many families and so many great activities for everyone that came. These volunteers spend hours of their personal time to make this happen and it was a memorable event for the kids and parents that attended.

Sheriff Ian Parkinson with two children dressed like officers

Everyone had a great time at the Sheriff’s Family Fun Day - including Sheriff Ian Parkinson. Many of the kids cam wearing the uniform nof their favorite public servants - police, sheriffs, military, and firefighters and all looked adorable!
